Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina Volunteer Event

Please mark your calendars for a family friendly volunteer event  at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina on Saturday September 17th, 2022, from 12:30 – 2:30pm. Second Harvest is the largest hunger fighting agency in the area, and our club has been proud to support their efforts each year through donations and volunteer events. This Fall, we are resuming our participation in the Backpack Program to help fight child hunger.  

The Backpack Program provides a backpack full of nutritious, ready to eat or easy to prepare foods that is sent home on weekends and holidays when school meals are not available. The program provides over 200,000 backpacks annually at over 200 sites throughout our region in a 17-county area.

We are excited to be able to return to in-person events, and even more so because the event is for a good cause. Volunteers aged 6 and up are welcome. This event counts for community service if it is a requirement at your child's school.
