Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Please join us this year for the first annual Harvard Club of Charlotte participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on October 1st, 2016!

We have formed a team online, and all donations and monies raised will be in our team's name.  However, everyone will have to register individually online and make donations or fundraise online under each individual’s registration.  See instructional information below.

Go to www.komencharlotte.org, scroll across the top bar to EVENTS, and click on Race for the Cure. Click on Register, then click on Join a Team.  Follow the prompts for your individual registration information and any donations. When it asks for team name, Team Name – Harvard Club of Charlotte, and if it asks for team captain -Team Captain – Karla Boyd. Each individual will be given her/his own password.  Each person can add registrants under her/his name if additional friends or family members, i.e., children, will be registered at that time. Each paid registration will entitle you to a t-shirt, race bib.  If you are a survivor, you may indicate that in your registration and you will be given a different race bib and will also be able to attend special events for survivors and name recognition as a survivor when you cross the finish line if you’d like.  Also, there are bibs that are "In Memory Of" or "In Honor Of" that may be picked up. Prices are $35 per adult registration for a non-timed walk/run, $40 per adult registration for a timed race (timed race begins earlier than the untimed casual walk), and $15 per child up to the age of 12. Prices may increase closer to the time of the race and will be higher if you register at the race.  This information appears on the website.

Each person will be responsible for picking up their own registration packets, and registration packets are available for pick up at the Komen offices on Randolph Road up until the day before the race or at the race beginning at 6:00am. The untimed race will begin around 7:50am. The timed race will begin first at 7:15am.   The race will be held uptown beginning at Marshall Park. The website contains more information.

If you have any questions contact Karla Boyd at boydk001@aol.com. Look forward to Racing for the Cure and finding one!
